Theater has the power to amplify even the shyest kid's personality. Just watch a game of Magic Rocks and you'll see the transformation.
During the exercise at Northwest Children's Theater and School's acting camp for children age 4 to 6, teacher Rommie Christiansen instructs about a dozen students to curl up on the floor, pretending to be enchanted boulders.
"I'm thinking of giraffes," Christiansen says. How they're tall, how they make strange noises and stretch their necks to eat tree leaves.
